Guided Journeys

Greece — journeys of discovery

We have led more than twenty pilgrimages to Greece since 1995. Every journey has provided great professional and personal development through healing, wisdom, spiritual, psychological and cultural breakthroughs. We access the spirituality the ancients practiced and the wisdom they carried. We apply their teachings to our personal evolution and work. We live more deeply, joyfully and with greater connection to each other and the cosmos.

Our journeys and institute are specially designed during which we study and replicate immersion in a sanctuary of the healing god Asklepios. Ed is one of the few international experts in this tradition and his book that documents it, The Practice of Dream Healing, is a classic. We create and spend our time in a healing sanctuary with holistic, educational and artistic practices all designed to immerse us in the ancient world, feed our souls, awaken deep growth, healing and connection to the Sacred, and prepare us toward using these principles and practices in our own healing and creative work.

Our travels in Greece include sites in Athens, which includes a day trip to Amphiaraos, a quite, private ancient healing site. Depending on the needs of the group, we also visit such places as Delphi, Sparta, healing/sacred sites on Crete, and several of the Greek islands.

Vietnam — journeys of healing and reconciliation

Vietnam is a Buddhist country. Its breathtaking mountain views and lush green foliage are a soothing balm as we ride between cities, villages and hamlets. Since 2000 we have led annual healing and reconciliation journeys to this fascinating country. We meet gentle Vietnamese people—teachers, farmers, monks, village elders, college students, shopkeepers, street children and many more. We attend ceremonies conducted in our honor at Buddhist temples and have special audience with their head monks. We visit museums and marketplaces, private homes and rehabilitation centers and, participate in humanitarian projects.

We have observed and experienced how healing it is for veterans of the Viet Nam war to meet and council with former enemies. We are especially committed to encouraging and arranging opportunities for our travelers to meet with former ARVN, Viet Cong, and NVA soldiers wherever we go and to respectfully and personally share our common history.

We make every effort to support our returning veterans in visiting places that are important to them whether it is a mountain base, a rice paddy “grave”, an indigenous village, the tunnels, an old battle site. Together we create rituals that enable healing and closure. We honor each other and those who have died. We open to forgiveness and reconciliation and peace.

Veterans who take our Journey to Viet Nam are transformed … and so are the rest of us! Visit Healing a Soldier’s Heart by CEM Productions to see clips from a documentary made about one of our voyages.
